Imagined Protrusion A
Image description. A graphite drawing of an unknown substance, thick and tubular, pushed through a hole from a horizontal wall. It falls to the the right making a slumping semi-circle. The substance is covered in wrinkles and ripples. The space above the substance is clean, white. The space below the substance is dirty with graphite smudges creating the illusion of a dirty surface.
Imagined Protrusion B

The space in front of the substance is clean, white. the space behind the substance is dirty with graphite smudges creating the illusion of a dirty wall.
Imagined Protrusions are heavily worked graphite drawings of imagined scenes depicting a dense, malleable substance being pushed through holes. Inspired by working and playing with unrefined clay, squishing and pushing into places it shouldn't be, I developed an understanding of what it may look like in various situations.
They are obviously faecal and enjoyably childish - and I revel in the ridiculousness of drawing these blobs.
